Who We Are

Hi, we are the Burrows' Family. We established our farm in 1998 on a property in the historic township of Sutton Forest, located in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW.

We personally planted a grove of 2,000 Olive Trees of cool climate varieties, mostly of Tuscan Origin that are suited to the cool temperature climate of our area.

Each year just as the fruit hits it's peak, we harvest the olives and cold press them within 6-12 hours of harvest, ensuring that our final product is of a premium quality. Our oil has a fresh, fruity and vibrant flavour with a soft-medium pepper or pungency. All our products are grown and/or made on our property.

 We strive to create the highest quality products for the enjoyment of our customers.

Our Area's History

The Southern Highlands of NSW is famous for its vibrant autumns and beautiful spring gardens. The cool climate and rich soils which produce such beauty are perfect for olives.

Sutton Forest with its green rolling hills 680 metres above seal level, is a historic area of the Highlands. The land was originally granted to Captain John Nicholson of the Royal Navy by Governor Macquarie, Elizagrove, the home of Sutton Forest Olives, is named after his wife.

Established in 1998 by the Burrows’ family, we specialise in growing varieties of Tuscan origin. These include Corregiola, Frantoio, Pendulino and Leccino.

High Quality Produce

Some Olive Oils are extracted using high temperatures, causing a reduction in quality and aromas of the Oils. Our Oils are extracted by premium cold extraction processes. 

Cold Extraction, combined with the speedy processing of the freshly picked fruit (within 12-hours), results in a better tasting, higher quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This process also locks in vital antioxidants which allows the maximum health benefits to be gained.

We're proud to have produced such a product, that's gone on to win many awards.

The entrance to "Elizagrove", home of Sutton Forest Olives. So named after "Eliza", the wife of Captain John Nicholson, RN.

Looking down one of our Olive Tree rows. Each tree is spaced 5-6 metres apart and each row contains 20+ trees.

We keep the base of each tree trunk free from branches & weeds. This then allows easier access for gentle mechanical Harvesting.

Our beautiful kelpies Jaffa(left) and Pippy(right). In addition to working on the farm, they are extended members of our family.

One of our farm's dams. Bore water from the underground aquifer is pumped our dams. We then irrigate the Olive Grove from these.
